Forty Filipino restaurants from seven provinces across Canada are participating in Canada’s first Filipino Restaurant Month in April. The celebration of Filipino cuisine begins on April 1 until April 30, 2022.
Since October 2020, Keanu Francisco has been running a once-a-month pop-up restaurant at Sara, a dining establishment in Toronto, where the Canadian Filipino works as a chef.
Chef Audie Louie Banania first caught the attention of local news in early March when the Alaska Highway News featured Banania, his restaurant and the promise to support charitable causes in Fort St. John, B.C., something he had already started as soon as the business opened in 2019.
