April 16, 2026 — Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC) returns this April for its fifth year, inviting Canadians to experience the richness and diversity of Filipino cuisine across British Columbia.
Led by the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, this year’s celebration highlights Filipino gastrodiplomacy—using food as a bridge for cultural connection—while putting a spotlight on the world-renowned Philippine mango. Participating chefs have created exclusive prix fixe menus that showcase both traditional flavours and innovative mango-infused dishes.
The month-long celebration officially launched with “Eat, Fly, Love 2.0: A Filipino Feast,” bringing together community leaders, government representatives, and culinary partners. The program opened with welcome remarks from Hon. Gina Jamoralin, Consul General of the Philippines in Vancouver, alongside a message from Hon. Paul Choi, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and MLA for Burnaby South–Metrotown.
The event also featured a keynote address by Hon. Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport and MLA for Burnaby Centre, highlighting the growing recognition of Filipino cuisine within British Columbia’s diverse food landscape. Hosting the event was Consul André Peter C. Estanislao, who assumed his post in January 2026.
In BC, participating restaurants include:
- Max’s Restaurant Vancouver, known for its iconic “Sarap to the Bones” fried chicken
- Pampanga’s Cuisine, offering rich, authentic Kapampangan dishes
- Plato Filipino, presenting a modern take on Filipino comfort food

Beyond dining, FRMC 2026 encourages community participation. Guests who order the official prix fixe menu can enter a nationwide raffle to win exciting prizes, including travel vouchers from Philippine Airlines and Air Canada.
As Filipino Restaurant Month continues to grow across Canada, it not only celebrates heritage and identity but also supports local Filipino entrepreneurs and brings Filipino cuisine closer to becoming a household name.
