The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver will hold a year-end event, called “MaligayangPasko, Vancouver!”,to be held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Centre at 550 West 14th Avenue in Vancouver on December 6, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event promises a Christmas shopping bazaar, traditional eats, Christmas lantern-making activities and carolling.

A highlight of the event is the lighting of Christmas lanterns (parol) to officially open the Christmas market, which will run until 10 p.m. that night.

Participating vendors and exhibitors for the evening event are Goldilocks, La Glace, Shameless Buns, Max's Food Truck, Potato Corner, Plato Filipino, Tikim Asian Fusion, Win Win Chick-N, Pampanga's Cuisine, The Khaykery, Kaye Bakes, Bukobaba Essentials Inc., KAPE, Corinthian Distributors Ltd., and Philippine Airlines.

The Consulate aims to provide guests, Filipino Canadians and non-Filipinos alike, with a memorable personal experience of how Filipinos celebrate Christmas back home, from the familiar music that fills the air to the aroma of favourite Christmas fare to the ubiquitous parols that adorn our homes and streets. Through the event, the Consulate also hopes to create a space where our kababayans can come for their Christmas shopping and entertainment.
