The Generations Under the Sun will be held at the Kamloops Art Gallery.

The Filipino Canadian Association of Kamloops and District invites visual artists to submit art pieces for a Filipino heritage exhibition at the Kamloops Art Gallery (KAG) Open Gallery from July 13 to August 17.

Dubbed “Generations Under the Sun: Celebrating Filipino Heritage in Canada”, the exhibit is envisioned to be a collaborative intergenerational project from first to third generation Filipino Canadian artists celebrating the spirit and culture of the Filipino people.

It will feature multi-generational visual art pieces spanning the Gallery’s 29 foot-long open gallery space. Forming part of the exhibit are interactive activities for children such as kinetic sand, ocean sensory bags and Filipino heritage themed toys and photo props, making the total experience family-friendly.

Opening reception for the exhibit will be held on July 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Art Gallery. Admission to the exhibit is free.

“Generations Under the Sun” will be curated by the arts and culture head of the Filipino Canadian Association of Kamloops and District, Mona Lavina.

Artists have until June 22 to submit proposals for “Generations Under the Sun”. For more information, contact the association at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
