December 1, 2025 — The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) – Vancouver and Mabuhay House Society, invites Filipino organizations to attend a community forum entitled “Safe Spaces, Safe Communities” on Saturday, 6 December 2025, at the Creekside Community Center, Vancouver, in commemoration of the Philippines’ Annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

This event will have experts to discuss women’s safety, workplace protections, community support systems, and assistance available to overseas Filipinos. The forum also aims to strengthen partnerships within the Filipino community in promoting safe and inclusive spaces for women, youth, and vulnerable members of society.

In this seminar, the following specific topics will be discussed by experts: 

  • The Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313);
  • Practical Strategies for Women’s Personal Safety (c/o Vancouver Police Department);
  • Understanding Workplace Violence; and Building Safe and Inclusive Communities.

A maximum of three (3) representatives per organization may be accommodated due to venue capacity limitations. Attendance will be on a first-comefirst-served basis, and pre-registration is required.
